A simple button press switches leadership among the three guys, and the clever level designs basically guarantee that you'll have to switch leaders in order to break a few walls and soar over pits to succeed. The four teams you can choose from have minor differences (see below), but with each one, you're simultaneously controlling three characters: one speedster, one powerhouse, and an annoying, chirpy one that flies. Heroes' basic gameplay echoes the classic, side-scrolling Sonics of yore, but with an interesting twist-team play. Nearly every review (be it critical or from li'l Jimmy the consumer) boiled down to "I just want to run!" Thankfully, Sonic's handlers listened: Heroes has the 'hog doin' what he does best in a rewarding return to form. That ill-conceived title unsuccessfully tinkered with the traditionally speedy Sonic experience by forcing players to suffer through tedious crystal excavation and hovering stages that simply sucked. You get the picture.Įver since Sonic Adventure 2 (for GC and Sega Dreamcast), Sonic's status among the pantheon of top-tier mascots has been in jeopardy. Sonic is fast, Tails can fly, Knuckles can punch through blocks. In the case of Team Sonic, that means the blue streak is flanked by Knuckles and Tails, though there are three other teams to choose from as well - Teams Dark, Rose and Chaotix.Īt the flick of a button (or mouse-wheel if you must), your team changes formation, and with it the character you're controlling, giving you access to a different set of abilities and insane special attacks. The key difference here is that instead of running solo, you now control a team of three characters. The gameplay is still remarkably simple - go fast, collect rings, bop the occasional robot on the head. Eschewing all the woeful adventure' elements of recent titles, Sonic Heroes puts the focus back on breakneck dashes through madĪrchitectural dreamscapes, with all the loops, corkscrews, bounce pads and boss battles your watering eyes can handle. Now, four years too late, Sega is finally starting to get 3D Sonic right, and Sonic Heroes is the highly likeable result.

Yes, I didn’t make a video with only the viewer lut because in my opinion it’s flawed specially on color rendition, it does nothing to your textures and makes you think to be in an ACES pipeline. I know that in NUKE one would use an IDT to correctly view an sRGB image in ACES but in Painter I don’t think there is a way to do that… When in Substance Painter, should I PRE-CONVERT any sRGB image I am using for the base color to ACEScg?(assuming Im not using your filters) Correct?įinally, I have a question about the conversion process. Next, my monitor is working in sRGB so is it ok that the default OCIO color picker is in Rec.709? In a thread from a VRAY Developer, he answered that if you “set your rendering colour space to ACEScg from Maya’s colour management options, all colour pickers will output ACEScg values”. When working in ACES my colors become more desaturated, which I understand is because of the larger gamut but can/should I re-edit the colors on the textures to get the saturation back that I liked or should I leave it knowing that it’s only because of the change in color space…my textures had correct colors before I applied the ACES workflow. See diagram 1 below.Īlso, I figured out how to use your filters and they seem to be working. I set the input color space to Raw since our textures will be pre-converted into ACEScg using a batch process after being saved from Substance. This workflow I saw on another post and I think it makes sense. I think this is more correct because the mipmapping conversion needs proper linear textures for the resizing algorithm and you are just telling it it’s a 2.2 gamma encoded file in the texture node. I even think you can get away without the gamma node tricking the renderer, set the texture node to gamma 2.2 Rec.709. You can do two things prelinearize in Substance Painter (add a sRGB to linear filter on top) which is a bit destructive, or load as is in Maya and add a gamma correct node for Base Color with a value of 0.454. The problem is that Substance Painter if I’m not wrong always exports Base Color as Gamma encoded 2.2. You can skip the conversion of textures to ACEScg in Nuke when using my filters. In such case it wouldn’t be much different than converting to bt.2020. Rendering in sRGB and convert to ACEScg for compositing defies the whole premise of ACES, since it’s not only a color space but a pipeline. But that’s just a convenience not a need. That’s basically rendering in ACES.Īrnold for example allows feeding whatever to the renderer, define a color space (IDT) in the texture node so it auto converts to working space (Rendering Space in Preferences) with OCIO. What you actually need is feed ACEScg textures and apply an ACES sRGB viewer transform. I saw your thread in the mail bulletin, surprised no one answered yet. Is sRGB and Rec-709 virtually interchangeable? I ask this because in this post by Christophe Brejon, he described a process for making a LUT to be used in Substance painter. Anyway, if my final goal is to display my work on the internet or sRGB, how should I convert the ACEScg (or whatever format is used to grade…Ive heard of ACEScc but have no idea what the difference is) to be seen back correctly in sRGB? Can I do the grading in NUKE? just a thought to save a step. What format should you export out of NUKE then to go to the color grading stage. Next, from what I found, it seems like most people do their color grading in Resolve. I understand that Arnold works with ACES fully but I don’t really want to learn a different render engine… I have seen some posts on here discussing different workflows and some were saying that they would render in sRGB EXR (basically do everything the same way they used to work before aces, and then convert the render to ACEScg in NUKE to do any compositing. Do I have to CONVERT all my textures to ACEScg in NUKE before bringing into MAYA or do I NOT CONVERT because the rendering will be done in linear sRGB EXR anyways so it won’t matter. This topic has come up in other posts for similar render engines like Redshift and Octane but the “solution” is really just to use a LUT in the VFB after rendering. I have gained great insight through Christophe Brejon’s posts and online book but I’m still wrapping my head around the whole thing.įirst off, I use Vray but it DOES NOT allow rendering in actual ACEScg as far as I know. I understand WHY I would want to use it but the technical part is getting me in a couple areas. Hi all, I’m a student currently and am trying to understand exactly how to use ACES for my color space in CG. Freddy first showed up in 2014 and the first products began hitting shelves in 2015. Meanwhile, merchandise based on the characters has become one of the hottest sellers in the toy aisle. FNAF’s success has also prompted a film development deal with Blumhouse Productions, the producers behind the low-budget horror smash-hit Get Out. It’s been highlighted by scores of channels and videos – sometimes showing adults or children playing the game, sometimes just talking about it or editing together all the “jump scare” moments – which have collectively racked up more than 30 billion views according to Striker Entertainment, the California-based company responsible for the game’s retail strategy. Kids who may have yet to hear about FNAF are being drawn into the brand when they see these cuddly characters in the toy aisle, making the game itself more popular with children as young as 6 or 8, even though it’s rated only suitable for those 12 and up.įNAF’s large following is perhaps most evident on YouTube. Meanwhile, its cast of odd-looking cartoonish animal mascots – with such names as Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie the bunny, Chica the chicken and Foxy the fox – are easy to develop into merchandise. The setting of the first version of FNAF (there are six) is a haunted pizza parlour similar to the Showbiz Pizza or Chuck E. Much of the game, which can be played on Windows, Apple and Android devices, is also specifically designed to engage a young audience. It’s not particularly bloody or gross, but FNAF has been engineered to scare the living daylights out of players. Sonic’s path gains more clarity as the camera pans out. First, there’s a loop-de-loop, similar to the classic one that he uses in Green Hill Zone, but it’s inverted. As he’s running, Sonic spells out a few markings. From the trailer, we can see Sonic or a Sonic-like figure dashing through a forest. If your game runs without crashing or having errors, you know the issue is with one of your Mods. Restart your game and play it for a few minutes. The only way to fix this would be to buy a copy of The Sims 4 directly from Origin, where you can ensure the game will be patched regularly and compatible with all mods and custom content. There is no guarantee that they will work with pirated versions of the game, so if you do have a pirated version and a mod isn't working, that could be why. Remember that game mods and custom content are designed to work with genuine versions of The Sims 4.Sims websites like SimsVIP also keep a running tab of incompatible mods and CC after patches. Check the page you downloaded the mod from and then delete and reinstall the new version, if necessary. Usually, the mod's creator will be aware of this and will update his or her website to notify players of this. With the Sims 4, nearly every time a patch comes out, it breaks a variety of mods. Check that the mod itself is up-to-date.Sometimes, download can be corrupted upon downloading them, so just in case, you can delete the files your first downloaded, download them again, and put them into your mods folder and see if it works. Deleting cache files allows the game to "fix" itself in a way, and can be done as a first resort before repairing your entire game. You may also safely delete the entire onlinethumbnailcache folder, if present. You can delete everything in these folders, but not the folder themselves. You'll also see a folder titled cache and one titled cachestr. You can delete the localthumbscache.package file in this directory. To do this, go into Documents > Electronics Arts > The Sims 4 folder. It won't damage your save game, and this has actually fixed broken CC (particularly issues with script mods) for me in the past. The game will then repair itself and basically do a fresh install of the files needed to run The Sims 4. You can do this by clicking on The Sims 4 in your library, selecting the Settings button, and then clicking on Repair Game (please note that you must not be playing the game when you select this option). While you're online, go into Origin and repair your game.rar., or any other file type, they won't work in your game! Remember, you should only see files ending in.
It wasn't anything crazy, but it fit the song really well. This had a cool drum intro that was a little different than anything they've done. I remember when the heavy intro riff hit, there were a lot of smiles and cheers from the crowd! I can't remember a ton from this one other that I really, really liked it. This one was one of the highlights of the night! I absolutely loved this song! There are a couple songs on the album that are super heavy, and this is one of them. This is the first song that's a little laid back on the album, but still has a heavy edge to it from what I can remember. I remember getting chills at the beginning and ending of the song. But they really added to the song I thought. I think they are even more pronounced than Pay No Mind. This has some more keyboard lines running through it, which made this song unique. And it definitely is different from anything they've done, but in a good way. I was really looking forward to this one from hearing about it in some of the interviews they've done. Since I wasn't super familiar with it, I couldn't really tell how well it translated live. But, I liked it! They played this one live and it was really good. I actually didn't listen to this one before since it came out so close to the party. I will say that this translated really well live! You could tell they were having a lot of fun playing this one.Īnother one they've already released. I remember thinking this was a cool way to start off the album. It was slow and dark, kind of like the first part of Slip to The Void, but very unique from anything AB's done before. Plus, they were playing it super loud, so it was a little hard to really make out the details. Ok, now for WALK THE SKY! I'll try to go song by song, but it started to kind of blur together after a while. AND, they now have Alter Bridge socks! Yep, I bought both pairs! That was pretty standard, but there were a lot of people! I stopped by the merch table first, and they have some really good looking stuff this time around. It's always great to hear nice stories about how down to earth and friendly the guys are!įirst up was the Meet & Greet. I talked to that guy later and he said Mark was totally cool about it. I did see him stop and say hi to another fan and let him take a picture. I was going to try to cross and go say hi, but wasn't able to. Funny story real quick, after I parked my car, I was walking down the street to the venue and saw Mark on the other side. I showed up at the venue about an hour before the show. But, hopefully others will provide their recap since we'll all remember different parts of the night. I'll do my best to recap the night, but there was a lot happening and it's already starting to become a blur! They also didn't have anything to take notes on like it sounds they've done in the past. Ok all, I just got back from the Listening Party a little while ago. |
